Hey there, we’re The Cleghorns!

and we are so happy you stopped by to learn more about us!

First and foremost, we are Jason and Andrea, full-time RVers, professional photographers, and avid travelers. We sold our home in 2022, along with our belongings, and bought a fifth wheel to live a life of full-time travel and crazy adventures! With our 6 adult children out of the house, we took the oppertunity to hit the road and do something most people only dream of. Now we travel where we want, when we want, and visit loved ones every chance we get!

But it didn’t start out that way!

Back in 2013, Andrea had had her own wedding photography business for over 25 years, and Jason worked a full-time job while also getting his fine art photography business off the ground. We met online and although our photography styles were wildly different, we had a connection that clicked so well, we eventually got married and started working together.

We traveled back then when the opportunity arose, but that was limited to Andrea’s wedding schedule and Jason’s allotted vacation time from his job. Sometimes we got to travel while we worked, but those trips did not satisfy our desire to see and do more. We felt as if we were being held back, against our will, and something had to change.

And then Covid hit.

As with most people, Covid turned our world upside-down. The wedding photography business shut down overnight and for the first time in 35 years, Andrea was out of work. Jason, on the other hand, had to continue working his full-time job due to the fact it was considered essential, and that was a very hard thing for him to do at the time. We were on different ends of the spectrum in our working lives, and had no idea how or when that nightmare would end.

Over the next two years, we noticed how popular camping and traveling in an RV was becoming, and the thought of that was really appealing to us. We began researching this lifestyle obsessively, and started planning our own journey of full-time traveling. As wedding work slowly emerged once again for Andrea, and with Jason still pounding away at his full-time job, we devised a plan to sell our house and go after the one thing we desired most, FREEDOM!

Now to say this process was easy would be a big fat lie. It was time consuming, emotionally draining, and heart pounding. We had to find a suitable RV we could live in full-time, update our own house to sell it, and go through endless amounts of personal belongings in order to “downsize”. The whole process would take at least a year, and we were up to the challenge.

As time went on, and the world started opening up again, we got our ducks in a row and by June 2022 we were ready to list our house. We sold it at the height of the housing market and before interest rates soared. We were extremely lucky with our timing and location.

By August we were on the road and our first stop was Minnesota to get our new fifth wheel. It was an exciting time that was well deserved after all the hard work we had put into this endeavor. We would stay in Minnesota for at least a week, to learn about our new rig and all the systems it had in order to function. Once we were comfortable with living (and driving) our new home, we were off on our new adventure! It would be the first time either one of us was (for lack of a better word) “homeless” and since that day, we have never looked back.
