We stayed at a KOA Campground just north of downtown Ouray along the Uncompahgre River for a week. There was so much to do in the town of Ouray and the surrounding area, that we knew we wouldn’t be able to do all of it. We did, however, get to rent a Jeep and explore the mountain trails and old mining towns. We also got to go paddle boarding in Ridgeway (the next town over) and that really surprised me, because I did not want to go paddle boarding. I had never tried paddle boarding before, and wasn’t sure if I could even stand up on one. Needless to say, I LOVED our paddle boarding in Ridgeway and now look forward to it whenever we get a chance. As soon as we got home, I ordered us two new inflatable paddle boards!
Another thing we got to do was a short hike downtown Ouray to a waterfall called “Cascade Falls”. It was a short walk from the shops downtown, and really convenient to do after dinner or a day of shopping.
